Walnut is situated in the Venice area amidst a collection of authentic Craftsman-style homes. During its construction, we aimed to integrate Walnut into its surroundings while preserving its unique identity. We drew upon the fundamental principles of Craftsman homes but adapted them to accommodate contemporary open concept living. The home embraced playfulness and avoided excessive seriousness.

The floor plan incorporated traditional elements of the front living room, formal dining room, and open-concept kitchen and family room. This home drew inspiration from accomplished Craftsman Architects of that era, highlighting their best attributes.

The property embraced its natural surroundings, and the owners discovered a walnut tree in the backyard upon purchasing the property. They desired to preserve this tree and designed the home around it.
